Moira O’Neill is a geographer from Cleveland, Ohio.
Her nonfiction and video essays are about her multiple obsessions: tech, territorial inequality, and spacetime. Each essay features at least two of these themes, since their connections are what make them interesting.
Meanwhile, a smaller collection of creative short stories turn banal phenomena (like toothaches, hair loss, and soil erosion) inside out, challenging how we understand the everyday and mundane.
Moira holds a BA in History from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and both an MA and a PhD in Geography from Kent State. When she’s not writing words, she’s building a new type of mapping software that can model dynamic, multi-level information systems. Follow along: arriveGIS.com.
